Kenneth Fischer, acclaimed saxophonist and UGA professor, dies

Kenneth Fischer, a renowned saxophone soloist and professor in the University’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music, died Wednesday following a brief illness.

Fischer joined the UGA faculty in 1979. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Michigan State, his Master of Music and Doctor of Music in Saxophone Performance from Indiana University and taught at Central Missouri State from 1975 to 1979 before coming to UGA.
