Housing complaints lead to series, policy changes

Before students began worrying about the swine flu, they had other health concerns on campus.

Mold, rats and gushing toilets were just a few of the dorm room debacles The Red & Black uncovered in its spring “Lodging Complaints” series.

“We have something that looks like a mushroom growing out of the wall where the crack is,” wrote one fourth-floor resident of Mell Hall in a January 2007 work order obtained by The Red & Black.
